New Blog Name competition

I need a new blog name. When we get back I can't keep calling myself Brits In Bosn3ia because, well, we are not in Bosnia.

So, I'm opening my first ever competition. Leave a comment with a suggestion for my new blog name. The winner, totally random and chosen by me according to my whim on the day, will receive a genuine bottle of home-made plum brandy for that genuine authentic Bosnian moment. Actually you will need to put on a tracksuit, pair of wellies and sit outside singing raucous songs and eating half a cow for the actual authentic Bosnian moment, but this will be pretty close.

For some extraordinary reason, no one is sponsoring this post but I can guarantee that the sljivavica is homemade as we were there when it was made. Or maybe I'll offer up the stuff that the vet gave us, currently used for getting ticks off the dog, but locals say that his stuff has a good reputation. The winner can choose.

PS - on a totally different track, I'm ridiculously chuffed to have been nominated in three categories for the MADS awards. If you nominated me, thank you so much, you have no idea how much that made my day/week/month/year. If you haven't nominated already then click on the MADS button on the right and go and do so now.

Brits back from Bosnia

gets my vote, cos although you will be back I bet you'll still have one eye on the old place and post about not only the contrasts you notice more upon return, but also comments about news stories fro the area.

So there will still be a Bosnian flavour for the foreseeable future.

I am pants with names, but I will be interested in what others pick!!

Linda said...

How about

No more plum brandy?

That's if you want to as Sarah says keep an eye on Bosnia.

Just a quickie!

(That's not another suggestion by the way...)

Oh god, I'm rubbish at this sort of thing - but will think about it and come back. Good luck anyway.

Welcome back! I like this competition. Brits out of Bosnia, Brits in Britain, Emily in England, Ex Expats, Brits in Bosnia Back in Britain, the Blog Formerly Known as Brits in Bosnia. Hmm, none of these trip of the tongue so I won't be surprised or offended if you don't pick them. Well done on on your nominations!

Gappy said...

Congrats on your nominations - they are well deserved indeed.

Um... a name. How about Back in Blighty?

No? Oh, o.k. then.

Young Mummy said...

I think Emily O has come up with all the suggestions I can think of! We should limit this to one entry per person ;) I often wonder what I'd call my blog if I decided to change its name so I'm a bit jealous you get to do it. x

notSupermum said...

I was just about to type my idea, and noticed that Gappy has stolen it!! how very dare she!!

Emily O said...

Lol at Young Mummy, a good idea to limit to one per person but all my suggestions are rubbish! Sarah and Gappy have the best ones. Came back to say I've tagged you at mine!

hampshireflyer said...

I can't think of anything better than Linda's :))

Glad the trip back wasn't *too* chaotic...

Iota said...

I like Sarah's and Gappy's.

Or how about "The Boys are Back in Town"? Or just "Boys Back in Town'?

Or "Home Thoughts from Home"? (Oh to be in England, now that April's there - and you cleverly arrived back in England in April). Or just "Home Thoughts"?

I quite like "Home Thoughts"

You maybe need to think about what flavour your blog is going to have (if you know). Is it going to be expat-return stuff, or small boy stuff, or what? That might influence your decision.

I think you should drop Fraught Mummy, because you're not. You're pretty serene and unruffled and in control, when it comes down to it. You could become Blighty Mummy, if you went with 'Back in Blighty'. Oooh, how about 'Flighty in Blighty'?

I'm thinking about this way too much.

Iota said...

Funnily enough, I think The Mad House has inadvertently come up with a good one. I quite like "Pants with Names". It doesn't actually mean anything, but it will get people thinking - what on earth does that mean? And I bet your boys' pants do have names on them (Thomas the tank, Bob the Builder, etc)

But I don't think you'll go for this one.

And by the way, you won't have to mail the plum brandy to America if I win.

Nickie @ Typecast said...

You could use your subtitle - "Toddlers, Dog & All" with the "Brits back from Bosnia" as your byline :)

Bella Foxx said...

All I can come up with is Finally Home. **shrug**

Or maybe, "A Well Worn Glove"

Or maybe, .... nothing, I got nothing else.

To be honest, hon, you've built up quite the following with Brits in Bosnia, probably stick with it, but add a * thing and then put your caveat. Either that or Brits who escaped Bosnia! Cx

BTW all my skypes are stuck to you again. On my way to Haiti now, I'll try to catch up with you soon.

Brit in Bosnia / Fraught Mummy said...

Cory - Skypes are stuck because my laptop is back with Mum and I'm poaching Dave's - which means I don't have any emails or skype details. Email me so I can email you back. Stay safe. xx

Hmm, something to do with rain and playgrounds perhaps. Trying to come up with something snappy but not having much luck.

It can't rain all the time?

Playtime 24/7

I am rubbish at this. Think I'll just go and have some Easter egg instead.

Kelly said...

Ohh, We went to Bosnia and all I came back with was this blog?

Far too long I know but I liked it.

'The Comeback Kids'.

I don't have a pithy name but I am panicking about how to update the link on my blog. It took me half a day to do it the first time :)

Welcome home (soon).

Loving all these ideas. Am going to mull away quietly to myself. So much to consider... will decide soon. Must decide soon. Thanks for all your ideas! x

I've been thinking over the last few days, hoping a good one will pop into my mind. Unfortunately I couldn't think of a real belter so you'll have to have these also-rans:

Bye Bye Bosnia

Back to the Future

From Bosnia to Britannia

No more Treading in Dog Shit!

zooarchaeologist said...

Now thats a hard one.
Why not totally re-invent yourself and do something completely different?
Im rubbish at this aren't I- lol

Sparx said...

I love 'Back in Blighty', don't think I can top that - welcome home, by the way!

Sandy Calico said...

Erm, you could stick with Fraught Mummy?

I'd be useless on The Apprentice in the episodes where they have to do branding or marketing! Blue sky thinking is so not my thing!

Welcome home x

Thanks everyone - loads of ideas, I'm feeling spoilt for choice. We've got three days of driving across Europe starting tomorrow (and the stereo is broken), so I'm going to mull and think and wonder and decide. Really appreciate your entries, there are some really brilliant ones here!
