Favourite Photo of 2009 Meme

The boys on a beach in the Isle of Wight in May 2009. This photo has been my wallpaper on my computer for a long time and I love it because it is so indescribably English. It makes me think of going paddling in rock pools before heading back to the beach hut for tea and lemon cake. Which is exactly what we did.

I'm really sorry but I can't remember who tagged me for this meme but it started with that Tara from Sticky Fingers so blame her. I've also lost the blogging mojo today and can't find the energy to tag a load of other people to do it so if you fancy participating then consider yourself in.

Lovely photo. I think I'd struggle to find one favourite photo -there are so many!

I'm not sure if I should recognise that beach - to my ramshackle memory it looks slightly like Puckpool but too long. I have fond memories of expanses of low-tide beach at Ryde when we were young (my brother sat on a jellyfish, so his memories aren't quite so fond).

That is such a great photo and it also envokes similar memories in me... and I wasn't there with you!

Fab photo - could be straight out of a Boden catalogue! And I know that beach well - it has that fantastic beach cafe just behind doesn't it? 'Baywatch on the beach' I think it's called, which is always chock full with the Boden set, lunching on crab salads and moules frites. Gorgeous spot. Let us know when you're next back on the Island and we can meet for a crab pasty or ice-cream or something

Cute! Was going to post that it looks straight out of the Boden catalogue, but see Mamma Po has beaten me to it....you should see American kids on the beach, it's all fluorescent tops and none of them have that windblown British look!

Have to agree - that's a Boden shot!

Really sweet.

Gorgeous photo sweetie. Have lost my blogging mojo too - let me know if you find it! x

I hope you find your blogging mojo soon. When you do, can you check if mine's with it? x

Not SuperMum - thanks. The decision was made easier by not posting any pictures with faces in...

Owen - very close but not quite!

Pippa - the old rockpooling in the cold memories. We all have them!

Mamma Po - spot on! I'm very impressed with your island knowledge. Yes please next time we are there we'd love to meet up. Prob some time in April/May. x

NVG - American beaches are just not quite the same. I think that's why I love the photo, it can only be somewhere in Britain.

LH - love that everyone thinks it is Boden. Not a stitch of Boden on them. Some ancient second hand cords, some hand me down tops from M&S and an Old Navy pair of shorts (the Americans had to be represented somewhere!)

MT and Mwa - same here. They must all be under a rock somewhere.

Happy New Year to you and your stripy boys (all 3) xx

Such a lovely photo - I love their striped tops, very Boden indeed x

it's the stripes that give it that quintessential Boden feel. Shame they have sabotaged stripes & spots & made everyone look like a Boden clone!
My hubby grew up in St Helen's. We go back every summer. I LOVE it! You shd also try Bembridge beach - great for rock pools & lack of tourists just locals! Whitecliff bay is great too (once u have fought yr way through the caravan site)

Lovely, but what I find so English about it is that they are at the beach all wrapped up in their longsleeved, hooded sweaters! He he he!

I love the photo!

There's another tag for you over at mine.

no wonder you are homesick, gazing at the lovely English beaches...

How lovely! It is so, so English.

Alice - and to you too! You back in the northern hemisphere at any point soon?

Liz - So Boden looking, but not. Never even crossed my mind, but then no Boden catalogues here!

Pardise - we are living parallel lives. See you there this summer? We stay in a cottage on the green..

WM - It can only be England. Middle of summer too!

Laura - Thanks!

MM - I am feeling homesick at the moment. Maybe I need to change my wallpaper photo?

LM - I think Working Mum is right. It is the long sleeve tops and trousers in the middle of summer that make it so English.

Blissfully English! And I just love his feet: actually Bog Boy is about the same size and I have a foot fetish thing going on with him too!
